When to Buy Your Wedding Dress

When to Buy Your Wedding Dress

You've come to the right place if you've just gotten engaged and are planning to buy a wedding dress! Buying a wedding dress can be a difficult decision to make. Our team at Samila Bridal & Formal in Seattle believes it should be a fun and exciting experience, not stressful! If you're concerned about finding the perfect wedding dress, read on for everything you need to know about when to buy one:

When a bride chooses a venue and wedding date, we always recommend she begin shopping for her wedding gown right away! It’s beneficial to plan for this in advance because a lot of wedding dresses can take anywhere between six to eight months to arrive. Also, due to COVID, there are some delays with shipping to keep in mind.

The earlier you start shopping, the sooner you can buy a gown and confidently know that it will arrive in time. Once you start shopping about a year in advance from your wedding date, make sure you go ahead and set your budget for your dress; keep in mind any extra costs like shipping, taxes, shoes, jewelry, or a veil. You’ll also need to plan ahead to make time for any alterations!

Again, it’s best to get ahead of the game here! We always recommend that brides buy a dress at least six to eight months out from the wedding. This allows you some time to shop around and decide what style of wedding dress you really love.
